La Bouche

The language of music transcends political, religious and cultural boundaries. It is with this spirit that Lane McCray burst onto the international music scene in the mid and late 1990s with the late diva Melanie Thornton. Having met in Frankfurt, Germany by a chance encounter, this powerhouse duo became known as La Bouche (French for “the mouth”) and conquered the dance music scene with landmark success, producing chart toping singles, peaking at number one in seven countries.  The successful dynamic duo conquered the charts of the 1990s. With more than 10-million records sold under BMG and the meticulously watchful eye of legendary music mogul Frank Farian, La Bouche earned numerous awards, including the German Grammy, the Echo, for Dance Song of the Year in 1995.

In 2001, Melanie Thornton passed in plane crash while promoting her solo career.  La Bouche today consists of original vocalist Sir Lane McCray and Dana Rayne or Kayo Shekoni (who have been endorsed by Melanie Thorton’s estate).

About Dana Rayne:
Dana Rayne’s single “Object Of My Desire” (Incentive/Ministry of Sound) scored big on the UK charts, were it topped at #6 on the Top 40 Pop chart and #3 on the Top 40 UK Club chart.  She also released the dance floor anthem “Overload” (Robbins Ent.) which features remixes by the EDM producers – Buzz Junkies. Other endeavors to look out for are collaborations with Jeannie Ortega, Lucas Prata and Multi-Platinum recording artist; Fulanito.

About Kayo Shekoni:

Later on, she became part of the pop group Afro-dite in the early 2000s, reaching the finals at Melodifestivalen 2002 with the song “Never Let It Go” and representing Sweden in the Eurovision song contest in Tallinn the same year. In 2003 Afro-dite once again was at Melodifestivalen with the song “Aqua Playa”.
